          “Will you clasp My hand this day and let Me lead you to My Father’s house?  Have you not yet realized your weakness and poverty?  The way of the cross is narrow and very difficult.  You need a guide to lead you.

          I have not asked you to travel the way of the cross alone.  I have promised to be with you all the days of your life.  Why do you run ahead on your own when the path is full of dangerous perils?

          You must stop and ponder the path.  Can you move on victoriously on your own?  No; you will inevitably fall.  You must place your small hand in Mine to walk through the landmines and pitfalls.  I will shelter you from the wickedness in high places ready to attack your spirit.

          With the confident trust of a child, place all your hope in Me.  Stop relying on your own pitiful resources.  You have none.  Become a child again.  Let yourself be led in docility.  Entrust all to My care.  I know the Father’s will in all that happens to you.  It is time for you to release your hold on everything, even your spiritual goods which you cling to very tightly.

          I am the goal of your spirituality.  All the means point to the end – “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”  It seems to take many years for a soul to realize that it is in losing your well-built identity and becoming a helpless child that you will become a spiritual giant.

          Only children enter the kingdom of God in passionate abandon.  Their simplicity opens heaven’s gates.  They bound into the land of glory unafraid.

          You cannot make progress on your own without My help.  Let Me live in you this day.  Let Me run to heaven joyfully within you.  Let Me teach you kingdom truths.  Like the Pied Piper, I lead My children home to the sound of heavenly music.”
