“To love God more than yourself … Is it possible in this world?  Yes, it is possible to all men, but it is an arduous duty of self-discipline and self-denial.  Prayer must become your lifeblood.  Only in conversation with the Almighty One can you come to know who you are and who He is.  When you come to that self-knowledge, you will abandon self as if it were a rotten moldy garment and you will cling to the pure and incomprehensible life of God.

Man cannot find Me because he clings to earth, to what is seen over what is unseen.  He makes no time in his day to come to Me to know Me.  He lives his life alone, making his own plans.  He lives for himself alone.

I am asking man to deny himself, to take up his cross of self-neglect, and to follow Me.  He must turn away from the world and from self.  He must give up all in this world to attain all.  He must give up his plans, his ambitions, his desires, his pursuits, even his right to himself.  This is the path to sainthood.

I replace all these vain illusions with heavenly treasures of eternal worth.  In exchange, I give you peace, joy, serenity, security, love, integrity, honor and glory.  You will live the days of heaven on earth, but not without suffering.  You will become branded with My mark of atonement which will make you an object of persecution and scorn, as I was.  But the love of the Father will overwhelm your heart and you will “count it all joy” to suffer tribulation because your love for God will put a song from heaven in your heart.  You will lose the desire for the things of earth.  You will be waiting anxiously to see your eternal home.

Together forever, united in love and harmony, all My saints will be eternally joyful in My presence.  Isn’t it worth the sacrifice of your very few years on earth to have walked away from the bondage of self to live in the liberty of a child of God on earth?  I offer you great treasures, My children, with promise of great rewards.  “Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.”  I will make your way plain before you.  The way of the cross leads home”:

Jesus,
Cross Bearer for the World
